Leading 7-5 after three periods of play, Steibler and the RedHawks faced their penultimate test as the Aggies began to climb back into the game. Texas A&M's Kyle Mendez (Sr., Houston, TX) halved the margin with a goal at the 6:05 mark, but the RedHawks put in back-to-back goals at 4:37 and 4:09 to give Miami a 9-6 lead with four minutes to play. The Aggies responded as Matt Davis (Jr., San Antonio, TX) dumped in a natural gaol at 3:24 and Cameron Glass (Fr., Clear Lakes, TX) ripped in an exclusion goal at 1:21 to pull Texas A&M to within 9-8.
